Frequently Asked Questions

My pet has never been boarded before. Do you have any tips?

Before your pet’s first boarding stay, you may want to consider bringing them for a trial run. Plan a one-night stay or even a day board to see how they do. If your pet is anxious in new environments, we have many services to help them adjust, and you can also call us any time during his stay for updates on how it’s going.

Many pets like to have their favorite bed, blanket, or toys from home. They can be comforting because they smell like home, and best of all, you. Bring up to two toys for your pet, but please leave hide chews and rope products at home (since they can be a choking hazard).

What vaccinations are required?

Dogs must be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Bordetella.

Cats and ferrets must be vaccinated against Rabies and Distemper.

We need proof of vaccinations prior to your pet’s arrival. Your vet can email this documentation to us at stay@nowboardingpets.com or you can upload your pet’s vaccination certificate in our online reservation system.

What are your hours?

We offer check in, check out, and airport transportation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

8am - 5:30pm Saturday

Mini Romp

Can I bring my pet's food from home?

Absolutely — in fact, we recommend it! Your pet will have a better experience if they’re eating the food they’re used to. We do have high-quality house food available for a small fee should you need it.

Are feeding schedules flexible?

Yes. We provide meals up to three times per day:

Breakfast: 6-9 am
Lunch: 11 am - 1 pm
Dinner: 5-7 pm

What if my pet is taking medication?

We're happy to administer medications at no additional charge. We aren't able to administer injectable medications, such as insulin or subcutaneous fluids.

How often will my dog be let out for potty breaks?

Dogs will have 4 opportunities to go potty either in their private outdoor run or during their complimentary playtime. We spread these breaks throughout the day so your dog isn’t in their suite for more than a few hours at a time (just enough time for a nap!).

Our a la carte services also help you customize your dog’s stay. Get more details about our Dog Boarding services.

How often will my cat's litter box be cleaned?

Litter boxes are cleaned two times a day (or more if needed). Check out more details about our Cat Boarding services.

How much time do dogs and cats spend in their suites?

That’s up to you! We offer a standard boarding service with a la carte add-on options, which means you can customize your pet’s stay with exercise, playtime, grooming, and more. As part of our standard service, complimentary exercise or cuddle time is provided for all dogs and cats. Please visit our dog, cat, and critter boarding pages for more information.

At some boarding places, my dog will play all day. Do you do that at Now Boarding?

We believe that if a dog isn’t used to hours and hours of vigorous play as part of its daily routine, it shouldn’t do that while boarding. At Now Boarding, your dog has ample opportunity to play with other dogs or spend one-on-one time with a staff member. Playtime is balanced with downtime, just like when your pooch is at home. Our a la carte services mean you can design your pet's stay to be as close to their home routine as possible and cater to their individual preferences. For more information, see our Dog Boarding page.

What if my pet requires medical care while I'm away?

We will notify you (or your emergency contact) immediately if your pet has a medical emergency. If you cannot be reached, we’ll contact your emergency contact. We will also act in the best interest of your pet. We use Southview Animal Hospital for our emergency care—they’re 15 minutes away and open 24 hours in case of emergency.

May I see daily records of my pet's health and behavior?

Absolutely! You may log into our boarding app where you can view details during your pet’s reservation. You’ll also be provided with a report card that tells you about their stay, and you'll receive a detailed account of your pet's boarding experience at check-out.

How far in advance should I make my holiday reservations?

As soon as possible! Many of our clients book their reservations six months to one year in advance, so it’s never too early to make a reservation for a major holiday like the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Reserve online or call to ask about availability.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Now Boarding often keeps a waiting list for reservations, which means advanced notice of cancellations is preferred. You can log into our boarding app or call 612-454-4850 to notify us of your cancellation. Read our full cancellation policy here.
