My owner insists on travelling from time to time, and so when the luggage comes out of the basement, I go into my "moping act," you know, disappearing for long periods in the house, being tentative about meals, barely able to wag my tail at walk times.
When we get to Now Boarding Pets, I just can't help myself - tail up, light on my feet, spring in my steps...can't wait to see if any of my old pals are there, but if not, I know I'll make new friends during my stay. When one of the very nice people who works there takes my leash from "Himself Who Thinks He Rules," I don't even look back because I know I just hit the jackpot being at the spa!
I have a great suite, get to play with others, eat my own food (my owner likes to bring it so that I'll be deluded into thinking that Now Boarding Pets is like home). As if! As we say in Scotland, the place is "br-r-r-illiant!
This last time, he and she were gone about a month. Oh, I got droopy every once in a while, but the people who work there - and my four footed pals - kept my spirits up. Apparently "he" called a couple of times to find out how I was doing...can you imagine that? OK, it was nice he thought of me while he was gone.
He even paid the bill without complaint, especially after he saw the reasonable rates, the great trim I got during my stay, and the sparkle in my eyes and my bouncing up and down. He was tired from a long flight across some ocean, but Now Boarding is open 24/7 whatever that means, so he didn't have to make another trip to pick me up.
Naturally, I couldn't let him know how thrilled I was to be home, so I dogged it (forgive me) for a couple of days to get him back under control. He says that whenever I go to Now Boarding, there's no "period of adjustment " when I get home, whatever that means.
Anyway, there are rumors of another trip later this year, and I can't wait!!!! Hugs an kisses to all the staff at my favorite "spa."
