Reports to: Operations Manager
Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time or Part-time
Purpose: Responsible for providing day care for animal guests
Essential Responsibilities:
- Take direction from Daycare Coordinator or Shift Lead as to daily tasks and responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers and pets in a friendly and professional manner
- Regularly demonstrate sincere concern for the care, attitudes and behaviors of pets and the relationship they have with their owners
- Recognize and perform specific care needs as communicated or written by owners and in accordance with company policy and procedures, ensuring the safety of each pet
- Document information on animals in our care in accordance with prescribed procedures
- Prepare play areas with water and a safe environment for dogs
- Supervise dogs in play areas at all times and recognize and immediately address signs of aggression or other behavior issues
- Clean feces or urine as soon as possible to ensure cleanliness and minimize diseases and smell
- Responsible for following approved procedures and policies
- Willingly assist internal staff in all NOW Boarding programs and special events
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management and the public at all times
- Ensure daily checklist of section is completed
- Clean and return all personal belongings to pet’s owner at the end of their stay
- Ensure the facility’s cleanliness at all times
- Janitorial duties may include: taking out trash and pet waste, hosing, use of the squeegee to maintain dry floors, sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies, overall cleaning and maintenance
- Prepare for the following day
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- Exposure to unpleasant odors
- Work requires restraining, lifting, and carrying animals and cages
- Possibility of being bitten or scratched
- Exposure to outdoors
Physical Demands:
- Individual will have extended periods of standing and walking
- May need to bend, stoop and stretch for purposes of filing and lifting and moving of supplies of up to 50 lbs

Qualifications Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Two years prior experience in boarding, kennel or day care environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Experience with dogs and cats
- Professional and positive attitude and ability to work with all levels of employees and the general public
- Available to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Good communications skills
- Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal care environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work as a team member and individually
- Ability to show compassion, patience and enthusiasm while interacting with the animals in our care
